A 20kg pb in 3 months is pretty impressive if you ask me, so lets go through @billbobaggains latest comp with @wrpf_uk The comp was really where all his work with the squat and bench got to showcase itself Squat ⚪⚪⚪ 205 ⚪⚪⚪220 ⚪⚪⚪230 Most of Bill’s work went in to making sure he didn’t sit too low. A crazy sentence for a powerlifter but the added depth was hindering Bills ability to make progress. So we helped redefine his depth and saw a very good carry across to the platform Bench ⚪⚪⚪ 150 ⚪⚪⚪157.5 ⚪⚪⚪165 With this being Bill’s ‘weaker’ lift we knew we needed to put a little bit of extra focus into this lift which showcased itself perfectly. A mixture of pushing accessories hard to continue with the muscle development needed and a higher frequency of comp spec bench meant that Bill saw a big old increase both in weight on the bar and also confidence in his ability Deadlift ⚪⚪⚪ 250 🔴⚪🔴270 ⚪⚪⚪275 Deadlifts have not been Bills focus for a few phases now so we knew this lift wouldn’t get too many extra kilos if any. The second lift could have thrown him off but he pulled himself back from the frustration fabulously, corrected the technical errors and came back stronger Whilst we had a tiny technical error with the deads, Bill was still able to walk away with a 20kg total increase AND a higher dots score at a heavier weight category showing us that putting him up was the best thing we could have done This is what happens when you have a proper plan Bill didn’t just randomly add weight to the bar and hope for the best We identified exactly what was holding him back Fixed the technical issues Built the muscle where it was needed And strategically focused on the lifts that would move the needle most 20kg in 3 months didn’t happen by accident It happened because we had a clear plan and Bill trusted the process If you’re a powerlifter spinning your wheels without a proper strategy, or you know you’re leaving kilos on the platform because you don’t know what to prioritise DM me ‘PLAN’ Let’s build you a roadmap that actually gets results on AND off the platform Rachel #powerlifting #powerliftingcompetition #strengthtraining
