HEthis was an assignment for my acting class with @ralstontalent . I loved filming this. The assignment was to film the same scene twice, nothing special. Just doing an action with no words or anything fancy, and film it in the setting of the place where you would actually do the action. Then film it once without much motivation, and film it another time with a specific motivation to see how the scene changes. I chose the action of putting makeup on, and my specific motivation was putting on the makeup to look “prettier.” I add quotation marks because what even is “prettier” ?? Like, if we’re all beautiful how we are, why are we trying to constantly change that, and convince ourselves that we aren’t already so beautiful? Makeup is self expression, and it’s an art. It’s so sad that it’s a source of insecurity for so many. Because nobody starts using makeup to feel insecure, that’s a struggle that comes with time. I wanted to incorporate that idea into this assignment, showing how much pressure someone might go though to to a simple daily thing (like putting on makeup) and how that affects them because of the toxic ideology in their head. But also how someone else might be totally secure and not think twice about getting ready for the day. Same world, same environment, different interpretations. YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL!!! 💞💞💞|| #childactor #behindthescenes #makeup
