RAA major fire broke out around 3:05 p.m. at a scooter company on Nieuwe Hemweg in Amsterdam-Westpoort, where multiple scooters stored outside caught fire. The incident was first reported as a vehicle fire but was rapidly escalated into a very large blaze, sending thick black smoke across Amsterdam and far beyond the immediate area. Emergency services warned people affected by the smoke to shut their windows and doors and turn off mechanical ventilation, while firefighters worked to contain the fire.
