Spring and it’s proxies 🥀 This might be very basic but I recently learnt that spring annotations like Transactional, Async, and Cacheable don’t run inside your class directly. Spring creates a proxy around your bean that intercepts method calls and injects cross-cutting behavior like transactions, logging, security, and async execution. This is why: • self-invocation doesn’t trigger annotations • method visibility matters • debugging sometimes feels confusing Once you understand proxy-based AOP → Spring’s behavior becomes predictable. #buildinpublic #java #softwareengineer #backend #productivity
