If you are new to knitting or crochet,�here are 5 mistakes many beginners make - I did too!
1️⃣Starting with a big project
A sweater or big blanket looks cool… But it takes a lot of time and energy. Start with something small - like a hat or scarf.
By the way, you will find simple free tutorials on my blog
2️⃣Choosing dark yarn�Dark colors (like black or navy) are hard to see.�It’s difficult to count stitches.
Try light or bright yarn when you’re just starting.
3️⃣Skipping the gauge swatch
At the beginning, you’re eager to jump right into the project. But without a swatch, it’s easy to get the size wrong! To avoid unraveling the whole thing at the end, start with a swatch.
4️⃣ Using only one tool
Some people only try knitting or only crochet.�But they are very different!�Try both! You don’t have to choose one.�You can even mix them in one project!
5️⃣ Expecting everything to be perfect
Don’t worry if your first project isn’t perfect.�Even experienced crafters sometimes frog everything�and start again from the beginning!�It’s normal and just part of the process.

SMwrapping up my bus knitting project! 🧶
really dig the oversized scrunchie: it might be a bit too thick and dense to really get what I was going for, but it was a great way to use up some yarn. chunky mohair and thicker needles (like the pattern suggests 😅) would have probably done the trick

But the truth is — you absolutely can.
You just need to pull out the extra cable between the stitches while you knit.
This technique may feel a bit unusual at first, but once you get used to it, knitting on circular needles becomes smooth, fast, and very comfortable.
This is one of the most useful tricks every knitter should know, especially if you don’t have the perfect needle length for every project.
