Everything feels different when you’re actually there. When you’re laughing with someone you just met. When a meal is shared openly. When curiosity replaces assumption. You start to realize that “different” doesn’t mean “dangerous.” Some of the most incredible experiences of my life and the most loving, generous people I’ve ever met - have been in places others warned me about. And what I’ve learned is this: We forget we’re all human. One of the most powerful things you can do is sit down at a table with someone. Share a meal. Share a story. I’ve been welcomed with open arms by people who had very little in terms of material things, yet gave so freely. The last portion of their meal. The best seat in their home. Their time. Their laughter. Their stories. There is something incredibly humbling about being hosted by someone who “has nothing” by society’s standards - yet carries an abundance of joy, generosity, and pride. It makes you question what wealth really is. Because sometimes the richest spirit lives in the simplest home. And sometimes the people with the least to give materially, give the most from the heart. That kind of generosity changes you and shows life is bigger than headlines. While this doesn’t mean you throw caution to the wind. Yes, there are places that require more awareness. Do your research. Trust your gut. Hire trusted local guides. Be smart. But please 🙏🏼 See places with your own eyes. Form opinions with your own heart. Don’t stay home because of someone else’s fear.
