Mark Acetelli (@mark_acetelli ) is a painter who lives and works in Los Angeles. Raised by a mother who was a painter, he grew up surrounded by creativity and explored several artistic paths, including musician and hairstylist, before finding his true passion in painting. His work has emotional depth and a tactile quality, which he achieves using palette knives, rags, and even his hands. Acetelli describes his paintings as “simple expressions of complex thoughts”… they are even more beautiful in person. His work has been widely exhibited and is held in private and corporate collections around the world. He is currently showing in LA at @artplexgallery and @d2art. He also has a show in Korea at @gallerychang . If you live in LA, he sometimes does studio visits at his amazing Bendix building (@bendixbuilding )art studio downtown, which are absolutely spectacular! GO!

Moving into the Bendix Building last September, and setting up my studio, was so straightforward. I just brought my tools and materials over, then drove to Ikea to buy trestle tables and two easy chairs. The tables are all set at hip height so I can work ergonomically, not bending over. I placed them together as a block of six, to let me lay out work in progress. ⁠ ⁠ But, what was missing was a good cutting table with a saddle to hold my heavy roll of canvas, and a shelf below. I'd had a make-shift version that needed an upgrade. Recently, over a week, Peter made this new table in our live/work studio, which he dismantled to bring to the Bendix. Here we're re-assembling it.
