A way of increasing tendon stiffness
3 second push (90% max contraction) through the forefoot, followed by a 3 second rest x 4 per side
Why is a stiff tendon important at the achillies?
- faster acceleration (when done in conjunction with high speed running)
- more resilient ankle to handle the loads on turf and on-foot volume
- more potential for elasticity (when done in conjunction with plyos)
