KE🔍 Google Dorking: The Hacker's Search Engine Trick
Hackers don't always write complex code. Sometimes, they just... Google.
It's called Google Dorking using advanced search operators to find sensitive information that's accidentally exposed on the internet.
What is it?
Google Dorking uses special search parameters to filter results and find things regular searches can't exposed databases, login pages, confidential documents, and more.
What can attackers find?
• Unsecured security cameras
• Exposed passwords & credentials
• Confidential PDF/Excel files
• Admin login panels
• Database dumps
• Server configuration files
• Vulnerable websites
Common Google Dork Operators:
site: → Search within a specific website
Example: site:example.com passwords
filetype: → Find specific file types
Example: filetype:pdf "confidential"
intitle: → Search page titles
Example: intitle:"index of" passwords
inurl: → Search within URLs
Example: inurl:admin login
intext: → Search page content
Example: intext:"username" filetype:log
Real-world examples (for educational purposes):
filetype:sql "insert into" password
→ Finds exposed SQL database dumps
intitle:"index of" "backup"
→ Finds open directory listings with backups
site:gov.* filetype:xls "email"
→ Finds exposed Excel files on government sites
