This is one of my all time favorite musicals and I am so glad we got to see the First National Tour! This is based off the book by Nicholas Sparks and it is also known as one of the saddest musicals ever (they even sell tissues at the merch booth!). The music arrangement is absolutely gorgeous and this amazing cast really makes it come to life. Everything about the musical is intentional—every breath, every movement, even the costume design tells a story. It’s a love story told over 3 different timelines, but it’s also a love story that expands across time.
