Some of the mistakes beginners make while making this textured art design 👇
1) The white edges end up messy
Cause: paste bleeds under the masking tape
Solution: seal the tape first with a layer of white acrylic paint
2) Canvas peeks through the pattern
Cause: not enough texture paste and/or pushed too deeply with the palette knife
Solution: Apply enough texture paste, and don't push the knife all the way to the canvas. If you notice it happening, flatten out the paste and go again.
3) The texture paste becomes too runny to hold shape
Cause: too much paint mixed in
Solution: use high-quality texture paste & acrylic paint, mix only enough for the colour you want but not so much it becomes too fluid
4) The textures crack once dry
Cause: poor quality paste / too much paint mixed into it / too thick layers / paste not mixed before use
Solution: use a high quality texture paste, mix it properly before use, don't add too much acrylic paint and don't spread it too thick.
