PENo brackets. No visible fixings. Just 40mm solid oak on show. 💪
This is a very simple but effective way to hide shelf supports in solid oak alcove shelving.
✅ Cut a groove into the shelf
✅ Make timber runners to match
✅ Fix the runners securely to the wall
✅ Slide the shelf straight into position
Using the New Dewalt 1/2 inch Router with a 12.7 mm straight cutter in, I set the Fence 11mm away from cutter, I could then cut from both sides which would leave me a 18mm groove.
I then used off cuts of oak to make the 18mm runners, pre drilled and fixed to wall.
This method works especially well with 40mm oak because you’ve got the depth for proper strength without ruining the look.
