XOWith another holiday break around the corner, this breakfast casserole is perfect to make!
Ingredients:
1 lb breakfast sausage
1 can buttermilk biscuits
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2.5 cups whole milk (for gravy)
6 large eggs
1/2 cup milk (for eggs)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper
Recipe:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and oil a 9x13 inch baking dish
2. Brown the sausage over medium heat. Do not drain when done
3. Sprinkle flour over browned meat and stir until fully coated
4. Pour in 2.5 cups of milk and stir until the gravy thickens up
5. Season with salt and pepper then remove from heat
6. Cut biscuits and layer evenly on the bottom of oiled baking dish
7. Pour the sausage gravy over the biscuits
8. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1/2 cup milk and salt and pepper
9. Pour the egg mixture on top and then sprinkle with cheese
10. Bake uncovered for 40 minute or until done
11. Let cool and then enjoy!
