MITeach your cat to sit ⬇️
💫 "Sit" is a great command to start with if you are new to cat training! It is a very useful trick to know and will be the foundation for other tricks.
🌟If you are teaching your cat to sit, it is probably the first or one of the first tricks that they are learning. Remember to be very patient with them since they might not understand right away what you are trying to do with them! But don’t worry and keep trying, they will get it eventually.
Step-by-step:
1️⃣ Choose the visual cue that will be associated with the « Sit » command. I use one finger up, so I hold the treat between my thumb and my middle finger.
2️⃣ Hold the treat above your cat’s nose, which should make them sit naturally. When they sit, click and reward. If your cat is deaf, use a flashlight or a visual cue instead of the clicker. For the first times, be patient as it may take a bit of time. If your cat reaches for the treat, try to quickly click and reward when they somewhat achieve a sitting position. Repeat this a few times.
3️⃣ Remove the treat from your fingers and repeat the same gesture, as in step 2. Your cat should now sit when they see the hand gesture. Click and reward when they do.
4️⃣ Introduce the voice command (if using) and say "Sit" when clicking. Repeat a few times.
Voilà! Congrats on teaching your cat their first trick 🥳 Make sure to save this and follow @mikeandboris for more tricks tutorials🔥
