Which means formations still occur and conditions still make great homes for bats and other cave critters. Please remember you aren’t allowed to bring anything into the cave! There are lockers in the visitor center if you need them 🎟️ There are two main tours available. The rotunda/throne tour is offered year round and the big room tour is available seasonally. You can find more details on the park’s website where you can book your tour in advance, which is highly recommended. The tour guides at Kartchner Caverns are great and we have no doubt you’ll be impressed! 🌡️ The cave stays constant at 71° F and 99% humidity inside, no matter the conditions outside • • • #azstateparks #visitarizona #arizona #arizonaroadtrip #caves

Carlsbad Caverns National Park… I have never been too interested in caves, but this was one of the most impressive things I have seen in nature. It was 10 times bigger than I expected, with an entry cave system that descends 75 stories underground before reaching the “Big Room”. The park is pretty remote in southern New Mexico, but I would highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the area.
