Why Mix Them?

• The oil acts as a carrier, softening Chebe powder into a rich paste that adheres easily to the hair.
• The Chebe extends Batana’s benefits, keeping the oil locked in place for days while the powder provides strength.

Application Ritual
Traditionally, the mixture is not applied to the scalp but to the length of the hair, but on this treatment I did both ;
1. Hair is dampened with water, I did directly I wanted maximum moisture🥴
2. A paste of Batana oil and Chebe powder is applied generously from mid-length to ends.
3. The hair is then braided or twisted, sealing in the mixture for days, I choose to do a 30minutes steaming treatment with it🤞
4. This process is repeated weekly or biweekly.
This ritual also has a social dimension: women often gather in groups, applying the mixture together while sharing stories, laughter, and cultural wisdom. It’s as much about community as it is about hair.
