ITChocolate Filled Chocolate Bread
The perfect bread for any chocolate lover!
INGREDIENTS:
200g Plain Flour
15g Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Salt
140ml Milk
1tsp Vanilla Extract
3g Active Dry Yeast
30g Granulated Sugar
20g Unsalted Butter, softened
150g Dark Chocolate (Chips or a Bar)
Egg Wash (1:1 egg and milk mixed together)
Extra granulated sugar for decor
7inch or 18cm cake tin is used
Steps:
1. Mix flour, cocoa, and salt together in a medium size bowl
2. In a separate bowl combine milk, vanilla yeast, and sugar
3. Sift the dry ingredients into the wet. Then mix until you have a shaggy dough and continue to knead for another 5 min
4. Gradually knead in the softened butter until its fully combined and the dough is plump
5. Let it rest in an oiled bowl with clingfilm covering it for 1hr 30min, or until its doubled in size
6. Divide into 7 equal pieces and shape into balls
7. Flatten it a bit then add a generous amount of chocolate to the middle and fold the dough over to encase it.
8. Place all 7 stuffed balls into a tin (im using a cake tin)
9. Cover with clingfilm and let proof for 30min
10. Pre-heat oven to 175°C
11. Brush over a layer of egg wash and sprinkle some sugar on top
12. Bake at 175°C for 16-20min
