Today’s lesson is actually my number 1 piece of advice and something I repeat often to anyone who asks me about how to grow in your career.
👉🏻 Learn how to ask for what you want. Create a practice script. Don’t be afraid to state it very clearly. And do not worry if it changes — just communicate it again.
The caveat: this assumes you are over delivering on your job expectations. Hold yourself to a high standard at work and THEN (and only then) speak about what’s next and your goals. You boss will only be compelled to help you get to the next level or advocate for an opportunity for you if you are a performing well first.
