THU.S. Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper briefed the media on the ongoing U.S.–Israel war with Iran, stating that Iranian attacks are rapidly declining. According to CENTCOM, ballistic missile attacks have dropped by 90% and drone attacks by about 83% since the first day of the conflict, showing the impact of U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure.
The war began on 28 February 2026, and within the first week the U.S. military says it struck around 2,000 targets inside Iran. Iran reports over 1,230 people killed and more than 6,000 injured, while Iranian retaliatory strikes have killed at least 11 people in Israel and 6 U.S. troops, with additional casualties reported across Gulf states hosting American bases.
Despite the reduction in Iranian attacks, the conflict continues to expand across the region. U.S. forces say they have destroyed hundreds of missiles, drones, and more than 30 Iranian naval vessels, as the war enters its first week with escalating economic and military costs for all sides.
