ABToday we’re celebrating Black Excellence with @lionelrichie, who once said he got into the music business because he wanted to be @neildiamond.
Lionel Richie first rose to fame in the 1970s with the Motown group, #Commodores, before ultimately launching a career as a solo artist, where he went on to write billboard charting hit songs, including “All Night Long”, “Dancing on the Ceiling”, “Hello”, “Stuck On You” and more.
As a 4x Grammy Award winner, Lionel Richie has collaborated with some of your favorite stars including Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. And in 2017, Lionel Richie became an Honoree for the 40th annual Kennedy Center Honors.
But in 2011, Lionel Richie showed us that Neil Diamond’s music is universal with his performance of the timeless classic “I Am...I Said” at the Kennedy Center Honors, which honored Neil Diamond and 4 others.
