Interesting Fact:
Alice in Wonderland 1951–Disney’s animated Alice in Wonderland was not a box office success when it first released. Audiences in the 1950s found it too strange and fast paced compared to classic fairy tale films. Critics also felt the story was confusing because it jumped quickly from one scene to another. However, in the 1970s, the movie was rediscovered by a new generation who loved its colorful style and playful nonsense logic. It slowly became a cult favorite and later a beloved Disney classic. Many of the film’s visual designs were inspired by concept art created years earlier for a cancelled live action version. Today, Alice is one of Disney’s most recognizable characters worldwide.
