The Congleton Market Quarter is set to open in just over a weeks time, we're buzzing with excitement for it to become a haven for the whole family – pooches included! 🐾 Imagine a laid-back spot where you can savour great value, adventurous food and drink, all without the fuss of a formal meal. 🍽️ We're championing eight passionately independent vendors, each bringing their own unique flavour to the table! We can't promise, however, that it's going to beat running around with dinosaurs or soft play. That's a tough ask. 🦕✨

But in Victorian times, Congleton was a mecca for the great and the good. One notable resident was the outstanding force-for-good, Elizabeth Wolstenholme-Elmy - and in front of where she used to live on Buxton Road is a once duck-egg plastic receptacle, unassumingly and dutifully doing it's thing.

The Play Hut and it’s not just for the kids 🙌 Think soft play, space for little ones and a café that actually serves proper food… not your usual soft play menu 🤯 While the kids ran wild, we sat down to one of the best lunches I’ve had at a play centre 😍 This is your sign to plan a visit especially for those days when you want to keep the kids entertained and enjoy it yourself. Located at the top end of town on the high street, @capitalwalk is a converted old shopping arcade with 13 small restaurants and bars taking up residence. With tables and chairs located in the walkway & upstairs, you just scan the QR code on the table and order from any of the vendors …and it’s all brought to your table. We went at lunchtime and had: Sushi combo deal from @zumukusushi Katsu curry lunch special from @skew.up Cheese sauce tooped wedges from @mexicanwrapsody #eatstoke #congleton #capitalwalk #cheshirefoodie #congletonfoodies #staffordshirefoodanddrink #stokefoodie

🌿THE CLOUD, CONGLETON is the perfect family walk. Only an hour, under 4km (and usually with great views)  🚗 We parked at Timbersbrook Carpark -Weathercock Ln, Congleton CW12 3PP which is just over the road from the steps that start The Cloud walk. Or you can park at the bottom of the steps on Tunstall road. All for free. 👣 We walked up the steps at the start of the walk, however they were slippy and a bit icy due to the frost, so you can walk up the road instead ( gosberryhole lane) . 👣 The National trust signage is great and marks the start of The Cloud walk, with a map and directions. 👣 We took the left hand path at the fork, which winds around the side and up to the trig. Then after a few snowy snacks and photos, followed the central woodland path down, avoiding the bike trails. ⏱️The whole walk is about 1hour, and the boys have been doing it since they were Age 3/4 in varying weather. 🌮 We had booked @thetalbotbiddulph a Vintage Inn for Sunday roast, which is 5mins drive and enjoyed our food. The boys had a £8.50 meal deal. 🌿 We followed it up with a wander through Biddulph Grange 5mins down the road. Any questions? You simply pick your carton size, pick your syrup and then fill the carton with milk. You can choose whether you want raw milk or pasteurised.
