I thought he’d be impressed that I had a little “k” next to my name but when he asked me about my list, I froze. “Uhhh, my to do list?” I responded.🤦🏼‍♀️ Turns out he was talking about an email list. Something I didn’t have at the time. When he pointed out that I don’t actually own my social media followers and I can’t really control how they see my content, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I never thought that this was me, until I went to therapy because I needed to process past trauma, and found the right words for things I’ve been working through for the last decade or so. Here are some things you might be struggling with right now!! Business owners who are people pleasers or have people pleasing tendencies struggle mainly with these 5 things… 1. Difficulty defining their target audience: People pleasers may be more focused on pleasing everyone rather than identifying a specific target audience. This can make it challenging to create marketing messages and strategies that resonate with their ideal customers. 2. Fear of being too “salesy”: People pleasers may worry that promoting their business too aggressively or using marketing tactics that feel pushy or manipulative will turn off potential customers. This can lead to hesitation or reluctance to engage in marketing activities, which can limit their visibility and growth. 3. Avoidance of self-promotion: People pleasers may feel uncomfortable or guilty about promoting themselves or their business, as they may see self-promotion as bragging or being too “me-focused”.
