THIn a world divided by highways and development, how does wildlife move around safely? Ecological corridors link protected areas together so animals can move safely between habitats to find food, water, shelter, and mates. Without them, wildlife can become isolated in pockets of land and/or water, making populations weaker and more vulnerable.
The Okanagan Mountain–K’nmalka (Kalamalka) Lake Wildlife Corridor is a 65km long ecological corridor in British Columbia’s Southern Interior. The Okanagan Collaborative Conservation Program (@okanaganconservation) and Thompson Nicola Conservation Collaborative (@thompsonnicolaconservation) are working to support practical, collaborative solutions that protect wildlife movement and restore connected landscapes across the Thompson–Okanagan and beyond!
