Azad wanted a Dragon-themed party for his 4th birthday and this maama executed and how! I first booked @craftybugsatelier to keep 20 kids entertianed and asked @shimulthapar & @chinkysainani to personalize the activities for a dragon theme. They started with a story about a dragon, then did a craft activity of making the most beautiful jewelled dragon eggs, followed by 2 science experiments to keep the children engaged and ended with a 'feed the dragon' ball game. The adults were shocked at how the kids sat for over an hour without needing any mamas, papas or didis. Plus we had dragon decor, a dragon pinata and an insane dragon cake. 4 is a hard crowd guys so now time for this mama to get some well-earned relaxation!

This year, Let’s Give is aiming to collect 1,000 gifts, and they’ve shared a helpful wish list to ensure donations go where they’re needed most: • Beach towels (kids and teens) • Jigsaw puzzles • Board games • Squishmallows • Swimming goggles • Craft activity kits • Books (kids and teens) • LEGO • Balls (soccer, AFL, basketball) • Swing ball sets Gift vouchers are also warmly welcomed, allowing Let’s Give to purchase any items still needed. If you’re able to contribute, please drop your donations to my ward office at Mt Ommaney Centre. You have the magic! Find what they love and then think of every possible way to use it to show them that it is important to you too! If they love lemurs, I am learning as much as I can about them and thinking how can I use this fact to connect with them! In this instance it was a YouTube video that I quickly made visuals for and was able to… ✨expand language- “number +animal” or “size + animal” ✨work on matching-figure to picture and if we don’t have it asking “lion, where are you?” and needed to go find it around the room ✨work on sounds and imitation- making animal sounds or making up sounds or movements to help develop speech I think as adults we sometimes over complicate play or connection with the perfect sensory bin (that they use for 39 seconds and make a complete mess) or craft activity or game when true connection happens when the child is engaged and adults can follow their lead or expand on where the take us! It truly can be magical!
