LAI never imagined having a c-section. I’ve always been afraid of giving birth and I tried really hard to manifest a smooth delivery. I drank the tea, I ate the dates, I went to a chiropractor… I did all the things!
Needless to say, my emergency c-section rocked my world. I had never had surgery before and then there I was: getting major abdominal surgery while awake after multiple hours of labor. Shaking, nauseous, terrified.
On top of that, you’re launched right into motherhood right away. There’s no time to recover like other surgeries. You’re up with them, feeding them, comforting them, doing whatever you can - despite the tender scar and limited mobility and pain.
It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. And yet, I’d do it all over again for my perfect boy. In fact, I *am* doing it again in July… but hopefully a planned one is a better experience!
To all my other c-section moms, you are superheroes ❤️
PS. You can read Charlie’s full birth story on my substack - I’ll link it in my story now!
