The supplement market is kind of insane right now IMO. I feel like I’m constantly seeing stuff promoted that genuinely doesn’t make sense and gym newbies buy it because they’re promised it’s going to make or break their fitness journey. I’m here to first tell you no supplement will do that, except maybe protein powder if you’re really bad at eating. Secondly, a lot of supplements are really not necessary. Unless you’re a long distance runner or fighter you probably don’t need electrolytes, especially not every day. You don’t need pre workout to workout if you have coffee at home. And fat burners do not work. That said, these are the supplements I do use regularly, and why. 1. Pre workout - energy and focus. 2. Cyclic dextrin - fast acting easy to digest carbs to avoid nausea when running 3. Creatine - most researched muscle building supplements with new research supporting brain health as well as 4. Protein powder because I’m vegetarian and also bad at eating protein 5. Sleep and recover pills bc I’m addicted to caffeine LXWREN will save you 25% today until midnight. If you have questions comment or DM. I’m a big fan of transparent labs because all the science info you need is on their website. There’s no claims that aren’t backed by studies. You’ve been sticking to your nutrition plan all week, Friday & Saturday too. Not bland boring food, not low fat. But high protein and carbs where carbs make sense for performance, which isn’t at every meal — my preference is Cyclic Dextrin as part of an intra workout drink and basmati rice after training. I digress. You’ve weighed yourself & done your check-in on Saturday morning. It’s been a good week, you’ve progressed your lifts across the week and you’ve nailed your food in line with your nutrition plan, you’ve had a small weight drop and your body composition has improved. Psychologically & physiologically, a Sunday roast can really help. Partly as a scheduled reward, partly to stoke the furnace — a refeed (which gives a bump in calories, if you count them, although personally, I don’t) tells your brain you’re not in famine mode, so your metabolism doesn’t stall but is primed for the coming week so a small drop in food volume across the week won’t cause your metabolism to slow. Having a little more food in a single meal than you normally would will not fcuk up your progress. Trust me. A roast dinner is essentially a good amount of quality animal protein & carbs. As long as you’re using healthy fats to cook with, it’s all good. It’s not junk. It’s nutrient dense & it’s clean. When you learn how to work with your body & biology, getting into shape and eating for performance, having stable energy, muscle growth, and fat loss shouldn’t be a penance and it doesn’t mean eating rabbit food, going hungry or struggling to eat dry boring food.
