We’re celebrating the witches of history this midsummer! 🖤 this song is loosely based on the true story of Joan Wytte (born 1775) known as the ‘Fighting Fairy Woman of Bodmin’. The Cornish people regarded her with awe and she was rumoured to have clairvoyance as well as healing powers. She allegedly became angry and aggressive due to an abscess in her wisdom tooth causing her immense pain. She eventually wound up in in prison, where she sadly passed away. They kept her b0nes, displaying her skeleton to be mistreated, examined and ridiculed. It was said her ghost haunted the area and her b0nes were used in a seance so terrifying they locked them away. Thankfully, in 1998 Joan Wytte was buried and her spirit was finally laid to rest in a peaceful wooded location.
