In this example, I’m using KNIME to build a very simple data cleaning & reporting workflow.
This is the most common framework I’ve used for reports:
1. Extract data
2. Clean / transform the data
3. Load data
I just started using KNIME recently, and it is so powerful and versatile. It’s designed for Data Analysts & Data Scientists in mind, and they’re already integrated with many different data tools, like Excel and SQL databases.
Plus, when you get KNIME Pro, you can schedule the workflows you build. No need to keep running the same processes manually!

👉🏽 WHY DATA RETENTION IS ACTUALLY DANGEROUS:
When companies keep your data after deletion, it can still be used to:
• profile you for ads or risk scoring
• be exposed in a future data breach
• be handed over in legal or government requests
• be reused internally in analytics or AI training
• resurface if accounts or databases are restored
Even if you forgot about the data- the apps don't.
⚠️ THIS IS SPECIALLY RISKY AT WORK:
Many people don’t realize this, but unapproved third-party tools used at work are a huge risk.
If you upload documents, customer or internal data to tools that aren’t company-approved, that data can be retained for years, used to train models, live in backups indefinitely and even stay accessible even after you stop using the tool.
❗️Some tools do NOT even auto-purge data unless you explicitly request deletion. This is how sensitive work data leaks long after the mistake happened.
💡 HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF:
1️⃣ Manually Delete data BEFORE deleting account- Remove posts, files, messages, uploads manually
2️⃣ Look for “data retention” language- Privacy policies often say how long data is kept
3️⃣ Submit a formal data deletion request to the company via email, Not just account deletion.
4️⃣ Never upload work data to unapproved tools, specially AI tools, converters, uploaders, or “free” services.

AAI started data science and immediately installed the wrong thing.
Here’s what nobody tells you — there are TWO options, not one.
Anaconda vs Miniconda:
Anaconda → 250+ libraries pre-installed. NumPy, Pandas, Jupyter — everything ready. (~3 GB)
Miniconda → Just Python + conda. You install what you need. (~400 MB)
The easiest way to think about it:
Anaconda = a fully stocked kitchen.
Miniconda = an empty kitchen — you buy only what each dish needs.
Which one should YOU install?
Just starting out → Anaconda. Zero setup friction.
More experienced → Miniconda. Full control.
I chose Anaconda. I’m learning from scratch — I wanted to focus on learning, not debugging setup.
