AUDeloads work, you’re just need to know the rules!
First rule - you need to load before you deload. This means you need to be lifting weights heavy enough and working hard enough to deserve a deload.
If you’re in your first 12 months of training, you probably don’t deserve one yet.
Second rule - the best deload strategy isn’t an entire week off.
Save the week off for when life forces it, such as sickness, family holiday, or something out of your control.
Third rule - try my strategy, which is to reduce the volume by cutting your sets in half and maintaining or even slightly increasing load.
