CAThe Fireplace 🔥
There weren’t many things Dara was particular about – but the fireplace was definitely one of them! He wanted one that looked as close to a real fire as possible: square, minimal surround, logs, a big glass front – not fussy at all!
Like most things in this house, we searched high and low. We visited six places in Donegal and a couple more up north before we found the perfect match at @devlinsmarbleandgranite. Shaun – the fireplace expert – knew exactly what we had in mind and introduced us to the New Forest 650sq electric fire. We were instantly sold.
We went for a honed surround as I’m not a fan of the shiny polished look. We wanted something that struck a balance between modern and traditional – nothing too old-fashioned, but nothing too contemporary either. Shaun completely got our vision and brought it to life.
We also couldn’t believe how reasonable they were – they genuinely couldn’t be beaten on price, which was a lovely bonus after all the searching!
We absolutely love how it turned out – it really ties the whole room together.
