the volume I got was INSANE and my waves started curling closer to my roots!! The gel I used gave me a medium hold, so I’m definitely trying this again with a stronger gel 👀

_KIf you struggle with limp curls or flat roots, these diffusing tweaks helped me and might help you too 👇
❌ Diffusing soaking wet hair → can weigh hair down & extend dry time
👉 Try micro-plopping first to remove excess water
❌ Using only cool air → great for setting curls once dry, but not for drying
❌ Staying upside down the whole time → changing angles = more movement = more volume
❌ Never scrunching or breaking the cast while diffusing → at ~90% dry, scrunching can boost volume, soften the cast, and help ensure hair is fully dry (one of my personal favorites ✨)
❌ Holding the diffuser too far away → start with cup/scrunch diffusing
• Cup/scrunch = tighter, bouncier curls
• Hover diffusing = more length, looser curls
❌ Drying roots first→ wet hair weighs roots down, dry mid-lengths/ends first, then focus on roots
❌ Giving up when it looks frizzy → usually a prep or hold issue, not the diffusing

JECurl diffusing rules I don’t follow-
❌ Do not start diffusing right after wash when hair is very wet- well I start diffusing right after wash, I don’t see any problem in it. I sit next to the diffuser for the first 5-10 mins and my hair length starts drying slowly (I have fine curls)
❌ not touch your hair while diffusing- kyun bhai, agar nahi touch karenge toh sukhayenge kaise !!
I also sometimes forget to use heat protectant 😜.
I usually air dry during summers but since I don’t have any choice during winters, I use a diffuser

SHHere's the difference
1. Apply product on WET hair
Work in sections and use enough water so the product absorbs — not sits on top.
2. Scrunch until you hear the squish
That sound = hydrated curls and even product distribution.
3. Start diffusing by HOVERING
High heat, no touching.
This sets the curl pattern and prevents frizz.
4. Cup and HOLD
Switch to medium heat and gently cup curls.
No aggressive scrunching with the diffuser.
5. Only dry to about 80%
Over-diffusing creates frizz and separation.
6. Hands off until 100% dry
Let it finish air drying before touching.
7. Oil + fluff last
Light oil on your hands, then separate and fluff.
