A full kitchen renovation isn’t within budget and I couldn’t live with the gloss cupboards any longer, so I’m updating what we already have instead. Instead of a full renovation, we went with cabinet refacing from @nudoors — keeping the existing kitchen cabinets and replacing them with new cabinet doors for a fresh, updated look. One of the most budget-friendly kitchen upgrades with the biggest impact. We used nuDoors’ nuVision”, prepped and painted everything ahead of time, and once the new doors arrived, a handyman handled the install. I opened it up by removing wall cabinets and replacing with open shelving, covering the worktop with white marble vinyl so they reflect light upwards, removing the extractor fan and installing a venting induction hob, and adding a breakfast bar using the leftover worktop. So many of you weren’t here for this kitchen renovation, and a lot are surprised when I say this entire space was DIYed. We did all the work in here ourselves aside from some small plumbing and electrical that was outside of our comfort zone. We did this project in three months in the summer of 2023. It really pushed our limits at the time and forced us to expand our skills a lot! 1.5 years later we love this space just as much as the day we finished it, and wouldn’t change a single thing!
