GRApparently, I acquired a new nugget of an adhd idiom.
So, kindly, bear with me.
ADHD dolphining 🐬 = diving deep into one thing, suddenly leaping to another, then splashing back into something new.
It’s not my "flakiness"; it’s how I learn, explore, and keep picking up new things all day long. Yay!
For example, me:
Family 🌳 lineage → cultural 🪞 reflection:
I go from noticing "oh hey I realized I'm related to Lucille Ball or Edgar Allan Poe → spiraling into generational identity, heritage, and 'what does this say about me?'"
😅🤭🫠
ADHD dolphining isn’t just me solo… it also happens mid-conversation with family, friends, coworkers, even my husband (he’s ADHD too). We’ll dolphin off each other so fast we lose track of the original point!
Anyone else guilty of turning what should have been a simple 5-minute story into a 45-minute acrobatic dolphin flippin' 10 steps to the left sideshow? 😂🐬✨
Like diving deep into one thing, popping up, then leaping into something totally new… and somehow learning a bunch of random stuff along the way?
How does it show up for you, if it does?
