Today was the final senior walk at H. Doss High School , and it was such a beautiful and emotional moment. Our seniors gave flowers to the person who made the biggest impact on their high school journey. I couldn’t be prouder to see so many of our Health Science Academy teachers honored—you all truly make a difference every day. I was also incredibly touched to receive flowers myself. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love being part of this amazing team. Here’s to continuing the work and changing lives, one student at a time!

His answer? Take the pressure off. You don’t have to jump straight to the front lines to make a real impact. “Getting involved can start really small,” Doss explained. “It can start at like, just open up your phone and see what somebody who’s running for office is talking about. And then doing a little bit of an extra search. Desmond Doss (1919-2006) foi um militar norte-americano. Foi socorrista de guerra recebendo Medalha de Honra por salvar a vida de mais de 75 homens de infantaria durante a Batalha de Okinawa em 1945. Desmond Doss, foi o único soldado americano que, durante a 2ª Guerra Mundial, lutou na frente de batalha sem estar armado, acreditando que apesar de a guerra ser justificada, matar continuava a ser errado. Morte. Doss morreu em 23 de março de 2006, em sua casa, em Piemonte, Alabama, depois de ter sido hospitalizado por problemas respiratórios. Neste mesmo dia, também morreu outro ex-combatente que igualmente recebera medalha de Honra, David Sombrio. “Só mais uma vida Senhor” era o que ele falava toda vez que salvava um soldado.
