FIOur dusky flathead stocking program has released 55,000 baby flatties in East Gippsland!
It’s our fifth year stocking duskys to boost their populations and improve your fishing, with over 200,000 released in that time.
The fingerlings were bred at a marine hatchery using broodfish collected in Jan, which were safely returned home once their breeding job was done.
Here’s where we stocked their offspring this week:
🐟 Gippsland Lakes – 40,000
🐟 Mallacoota – 10,000
🐟 Bemm River – 5,000
Just over a month old, these fish will take less than 2 years to reach the 30cm mark, while some of our earliest stocked flatties will now be over 50cm!
