TH5 things that helped me heal my eczema ⤵️
🥑 Increasing my intake of skin-loving foods. Think: avocado, salmon, sardines, flax seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, egg yolks, sweet potato, carrots, blueberries
🧠 Doing something each day to regulate my nervous system such as EFT tapping, havening, gratitude lists, 478 breathing). These help lower your cortisol levels and shift your body out of fight or flight, into rest and digest. When we’re stressed, inflammation increases which can worsen flare ups
🫧 Daily dead sea salt baths: soothe the skin, calm irritation and help relieve the itch
🛋️ Rest without guilt: slowing down signals safety to your body, helping calm inflammation and giving your skin a chance to heal. Sleep is a huge part of this (I know it’s not easy when you’re itchy). Create a relaxing wind down routine that brings you calm (no scrolling before bed) and keep your room nice and cool to help you sleep better/stop you itching! Healing accelerates in the hours of sleep before midnight, so the earlier you get to sleep the better
💦 Hydration (I know, eye roll) it’s basic but it WORKS. I don’t just mean drinking water, I mean hydrating foods (cucumber, watermelon, iceberg lettuce, courgette) and herbal teas. I always drink lots of dandelion tea as it helps support the liver, along with turmeric and ginger tea to reduce inflammation
