WOSometimes the problem you think you’re solving isn’t the one people actually have.
At the Inclusive Fintech Forum in Kigali, our Global Head of WWB Institute, Sonja Kelly shared a story from Senegal: a man said he didn’t use mobile money to send payments. But when asked about savings, he pulled out a SIM card where he kept money digitally, so family members couldn’t ask him for it.
The lesson? Financial tools must start with how people actually manage their money.
For many women, that means control over their own wallet, the ability to save privately, and financial services designed around their real lives.
