WAFrom a young skating prodigy to Olympic gold, Alysa Liu’s story proves that passion never really retires — it evolves.
Born in California in 2005, Alysa began skating at age five. She quickly made history as the youngest U.S. National Champion at just 13 and became known for pushing athletic boundaries, landing technical elements others hadn’t attempted.
At just 16, after competing at the 2022 Olympics, she stepped away from the sport, seeking a normal life, education, and some freedom beyond the rink. But skating was never truly finished for her.
In 2024, Alysa returned — not because she had to, but because she wanted to. With renewed joy and confidence, she rebuilt her training while balancing life as a UCLA psychology student. Her comeback became one of the most inspiring stories in figure skating.
At the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan–Cortina, Alysa did the unthinkable. She captured two Olympic gold medals — first in the team event and then in the women’s singles — ending a 24-year gold drought for the United States in women’s Olympic figure skating. Her free skate scored 226.79, propelling her to history and electrifying the world.
She wasn’t just winning medals. She was showing the world what it looks like to chase dreams with heart, authenticity, and joy.
