MAHey Slow AF Family,
I want to clear the air about the Slow AF Run Club name. I’ve been building this community since 2018, and it’s more than a catchy phrase—it’s my life’s work. I’ve worn “Slow AF” at races worldwide, built an app, launched a nonprofit, wrote a bestselling book, and partnered with top brands. After applying for the trademark 4 years ago, I’m proud to say the US Patent and Trademark Office has officially approved it.
Lately, I’ve seen Facebook groups and other spaces using our name without permission. Some allow toxic behavior—weight-loss shaming, bullying—and mislead people into thinking they’re part of our official movement.
Slow AF Run Club stands for inclusion, encouragement, and showing up exactly as you are. We prove running is for ALL paces, ALL bodies, ALL people. I won’t allow groups to misuse our name or ignore our values.
Here’s how you can help:
1. If you’re in a group using “Slow AF Run Club” without our involvement, ask the admin to rename it or reach out for official affiliation.
2.Join our official Facebook group or download the Slow AF Run Club app, where we protect our members and keep the vibe positive.
I’m not trying to shut down communities. I love seeing more spaces for slow runners. But I will protect what we’ve built—just like Nike protects “Just Do It.” If groups were removed, it’s because they violated our trademark and refused to work with us.
This is about changing lives. People who never felt like runners are crossing finish lines they once thought impossible. That’s why I do this—for everyone who’s found belonging here.
Thank you for standing by me and supporting the real Slow AF Run Club. Let’s keep moving forward together.
