Så nu vil jeg fortælle hvordan du kan — “Hvordan får man job ved de australske guldminer?” Det er et af de spørgsmål, jeg får allermest i min indbakke. Så nu vil jeg fortælle hvordan du kan søge jobbet Først og fremmest skal du have et arbejdsvisum (working holiday subclass 417). Vi var heldige og fik vores godkendt kun 10 minutter efter, vi havde sendt ansøgningen afsted. Men jeg vil anbefale, at man søger i god tid, ihvertfald en måned før afrejse. Når visummet er på plads, og du er flyttet til Australien, kan du begynde at søge arbejde. Det er vigtigt at vide, at du ikke kan søge FIFO-jobs, før du er ankommet til Australien. Der er nogle ting, du skal have styr på, inden du kan få arbejde ved minerne: • RSA-certifikat og White Card (begge kan tages online) • Police clearance • Pre employment medical check • Ofte skal man også have australsk kørekort Vi blev ansat som utility, hvilket betyder, at vi ikke arbejdede nede i minerne, men i byen/lejren, der ligger tæt på minerne. Et ekstra tip fra mig: Tag eventuelt et midlertidigt job, fx i et supermarked, mens du venter på at få arbejde ved minerne. Processen kan nemlig tage lang tid (for os tog ansættelsesprocessen 2 måneder) Det er ikke let at få jobbet, men bestemt heller ikke umuligt. I also used to think it was because I worked at the pointy end of the Ultra class mining machines. The shear cost of mistakes or slackers is mind bending. Its a cut throat game so that made sense to me back then. Nowadays I see it for what it is - I don't think its that anymore I think its HR and the OHS employees. With no skin in the game. No real connection to the hard face, often no industry experience and no practical knowledge or qualifications outside the office. It has put them in a vulnerable position. Useless. 🙄👋 All they do is launder truth and pedal control through box ticking KPI bullshit and liability deflection. They always pick the lowest hanging fruit to gain power and control. - They speak in rhetoric and use buzz words of corperate emptiness and the problem is.. the outcomes of decades of being under their control are catastrophic. If your in house Karens are using AI to filter new staff suitability in order to skill your crews. If they insist on an RTO accredited licences and tickets are the only legal way to get an operator started. If they are mandating across the board PPE requirements. If they are talking about "slips trips and falls" ,tiny flashing lights on giant machines or suggest that a JSA is an important part of the safety culture. - Get rid of these double agents.They are jobs you take when you can't get a job. They are a gateway drug to imposter syndrome. Let's go back to vouching for greenhorns to get them a start ourselves. Choosing them for their skills set and not their stupid ideas about gender or race. We need the best and brightest back. Not the most compliant and obedient. They aren't great character traits. They are actually the traits you develop when you are so incompetent you need to find the lowest common denominator to enter the conversation. Fuck. Em. 😎👊
