The reason it’s “advanced” is because doing anything with goats “helping” takes advanced skill hahaha!! Instagram threatened me for sharing a video longer than 3 minutes….IG cautioned no one will watch it if it’s over 3 minutes…. I could have speed it up, could have cut it shorter, could have added music to make it more interesting, but hey, this is real life, and most good things take longer than 3 minutes haha!! 🔥 Fire Making with Marcasite and Flint. Do you know about this technique? Marcasite is a mineral containing iron, pyrite, and sulfur. When scraped with flint, it generates sparks. These sparks can be caught with highly flammable materials such as the fluff from bulrush, willow, or, in this case, amadou. Amadou is a spongy material with a leather-like texture, made from a fungus called Fomes fomentarius. When scraped, amadou produces a wood-like fiber that catches sparks very effectively.
