BRLet's talk fitting rooms!
Since I've become a wheelchair user, I have turned to mostly online shopping or only shopping at stores with great return policies.
1.) More often than not there just isn't room for me in most clothing stores, I get caught up on the clothing racks, there isn't space for me to actually get to what I'd like or I can't reach.
2.) The worst thing by far, and I'm fairly certain they are not allowed to do this, but lots of places use the accessible room for storage or boxes, making it unavailable to me. I'd like to say this is a rare occurrence, but it's not. There is usually only 1 accessible stall compared to the 10-15 standard ones, so when the only one I can use is being used to hold your overstock or boxes.... seems very limiting.
3.) Even rooms deemed "accessible" barely fit my chair, which isn't saying a lot because I have a 14" chair, so it's on the tiny side for chairs. If I struggle to maneuver in there, how are others? Or the lack of benches to transfer from, hooks at my height to hang things on, or so I don't have to put my own clothes on the floor.
Shopping as a wheelchair user can be overwhelming and honestly discouraging. So when I'm feeling like I have the patience to try clothes on, and am pleasantly surprised by the stores accessibility ima shout it out. So thank you @aerie for not only and accessible store but fitting room that wasn't used as a storage closet!!

BIOver the past 5 years I’ve seen a huge change in what is available in store! It’s so GOOD to know that some of my favourite ethical brands are popping up in stores and on the high street. From the more luxury end to more accessible brands - I’m seeing them take pride of place in physical retail stores. It just goes to show that it really matters where and what you shop for! AL@nooworks dropped a new print with @auderpopz and i could tell it was gonna be my whole personality. ❤️🔥 ran to their LA store in highland park and tried on a bunch of styles. what would you have picked?
style names in order: joyce and joggers, linen western top and casual bells, magic suit, ursula, shelley coat, babydoll.
wearing a size 3X in most, 2X in some, and i do get most things tailored because i am vertically challenged and horizontally gifted.
soundtrack is @banditsontherun who weren’t playing in the store at the time but my little dressing room dancing aligned with their “funky ghost” jam.
