One of the biggest reasons it stands out? Custom shapes and masked imagery. 👉 Here’s how you can recreate this look step-by-step: 1. Generate unique shapes using Schultz Schultz’s Grid Paint 2. Convert to a clean vector/ SVG 3. Use CSS to apply the mask in your website builder - Laurent Gratecap’s free Made in Webflow Clipping Mask has the necessary code (thanks Laurent!!) As soon as I saw Schultz's tool I thought Flecto! That's the power of memorable branding + maybe a bit of me being weird 😂. Swatch BB Kurenai Red Tokyo 2020 Edition SO27Z101, 2020 Taking a 20-year leap from the previous posts into the future, into 2020 Olympics...actually the future is hazy: the world is post-pandemic, and the olympic games were held in 2021. A very nervous, turbulent environment, focusing on recovery from lockdowns, preventing the new ones, saving resources and following the new rules. And who knew, there was even more to come. It was not the future I was thinking back in 2000. Anyway, here we have the red (kurenai) version of a giant "Big and Bold" Swatch series, which is surprisingly well designed. I guess it symbolizes the female version of the same watch in blue. Design wise, it is closer to "Someity" - a mascot of Tokyo 2020 paralympics. The watch is made using the Kurenai Red, Sakura Pink and Fuji Purple hues. The dial is huge and easy to read, having a humble monochrome Olypics emblem, designed by #AsaoTokolo, in "Ichimatsu Moyo" traditional pattern that emerged during Ido period. The first 2015 version of the logo was turned down due to plagiarism claims, the author was Kenjiro Sano, which I liked more. (To be fair, to my taste , this is not a design to remember, unlike the Sydney 2000 emblems).
