I guess I'll go finish Onyx Storm and disassociate some more 😐 I haven't even been able to finish Onyx Storm all year because of my unhealthy obsession with this series and its characters—and now this?! 🤮 I started this series in June 2023. I read Fourth Wing in rapid speed. Then I listened to the audiobook. Then the graphic audiobook. Then I reread the book (unhealthy? yes, Im aware). I then read it all again. Then Iron Flame came out and I did the same obsessive book/audiobook cycle, plus I got an iconic tattoo that went viral. I then influenced everyone I know to read it. Proceeded to cosplay Violet at the midnight release of Onyx Storm, read chapters 1 to 3 on live that night, before having an emotional breakdown and needed to separate myself from the series. Yes—I actually realised I required some distance because it was unhealthy. It took me until October to start slowly reading OS—which I am immersive reading at snail pace since book four was declared to to take 2 years—and I am still reading it. Rebecca Yarros needed the break, and so did I. This song hurts, but I am more ready. No—it's not 'just a book' to me. And thank you to all of my amazing friends and followers for constantly checking on me throughout 2025, and keeping me OS spoiler free. You really are an amzing community 🖤

Things I wish someone told me before I read Fourth Wing… 1️⃣ Nothing will hit the same for a while Sure there’s loads of Romantasy out there but this jus hits different for some reason 2️⃣ You’ll think about Xaden daily! I mean obviously he’s an MMC written by a female but 🥵 we can still dream right ladies? 3️⃣ You’ll get sucked into the theory rabbit hole There is so much fan theory around fourth wing, it can become all consuming but it’s so fun! 4️⃣ You’ll get obsessed with fan art and videos I’ve lost hours to these videos online and I’m not sorry about it! I can’t wait for the tv series so I’ll have to make do with these for now 5️⃣ There are other ways to stay in the story… Most people don’t realise there’s a Xaden POV for the whole book… it completely changes the story.
