If you’re just starting your front split journey, here’s where to begin ⬇️ ✅Dynamic Hip Flexor Stretch – In a lunge, gently rock forward and back to open up tight hips. ✅Dynamic Hamstring Stretch – Shift back in the lunge and straighten your front leg, moving in and out of the stretch. ✅Hamstring Flossing – Straighten your leg and flex/point your toes to loosen up your hamstrings. ✅Active Leg Lifts – Take a sit and lift one leg at a time to build strength for your split. ✅Lizard Stretch – Step into a deep lunge and move your hips lower for a deeper stretch. ✅Assisted Split Hold - Get 2 yoga blocks and try to go as deep as you can into the split. Hold it for 20/30 seconds. Do each for 8–10 reps on both sides. Here are some tips for working on your front split! Hope these are helpful. Remember, everyone’s range of motion is different, so adjust these exercises to match your current flexibility level. Props like chairs, yoga blocks, or parallettes can be great for easing into the stretches and building strength gradually. For some exercises I used a stick here to focus less on balance and more on strength and flexibility. 🔹 Slow Pulses: Start on one knee. Slowly straighten and bend your back leg. Begin with 2-3 sets of 10-15 reps, then build to 5 sets of 25-30reps 🔹 Static Holds: Start on one knee. Begin with 10 second holds , working up to 1-2 minutes 🔹 Eccentrics: Try 3-5 sets of 6-8 reps, focusing on a 15-second slow descent to your max range. 🔹Increasing the stretch, Method1: Push your front heel into the ground and slide your rear foot back. Use a slider if needed. 🔹Increasing the stretch, Method 2: Push off the ball of the rear foot and slide the front foot forward. Train both sides and Enjoy!🧡 #frontsplit #hipmobility #stretching #yoga

That means you should focus on building strength along the full length of your muscles for faster, safer, and longer-lasting results. This drill focuses on active flexibility — it strengthens your hip flexors, hamstrings, and glutes while moving through your split. Use blocks (or chairs, walls, whatever you’ve got) to help with balance, but don’t rely on them to bring yourself back to the starting position!
