Fireground strength isn’t built just standing tall. This movement trains what actually happens on the job. Starting low, reacting fast, and lifting under asymmetrical load. The dumbbell isn’t pulled. The arm stays passive. The legs and hips drive the lift. What this builds: Ground-to-stand efficiency Lower-body power under offset load Proprioception and balance in unstable positions Trunk control when things aren’t “perfectly stacked” This isn’t a max-strength lift (60 lbs dumbbell here). It’s functional training for firefighters where control, awareness, and efficiency matter more than pretty reps. Train strength. Train movement.
