I leave my parents alone so they’d praise me for being independent I go to places with friends so they’d like me for being fun I think recently I’ve realized that I created myself to be convenient for others As a child my mom would always say that I’m the star child and she has high expectations for me For the longest time I thought this “expectation” is what drove me and what made me successful But when I was 18 I honestly didn’t know if I’d make it to 19 It sound illogical but I just didn’t see a way through I took a gap year and failed everything I said I’d accomplish. So at my lowest point, I started doing things for myself I started making content again like I did when I was 12 And I’ve never been happier or more successful But even today, when my mom texted me and asked how my business is going I felt embarrassed saying we made $12k in the last 3 days… that’s literally the most money I’ve ever frickin made I thought it would only make her proud if I made $40k That’s such a toxic trait. I thought it was my ambition but man maybe it’s the expectation I still have as the “easy child” So I think pressure can create diamonds but it can also crush you. Take care of yourself. Do things for you. You are enough right now I hope you know that I’m still working on it (Sorry for being corny lol this was a part of my journal entry today but I thought I’d polish it and share it cause it might really help who needs to hear it)
