I help mamas keep their kiddos healthy, naturally! Follow along @kodeeholisticnp for more holistic swaps!!🌿 Here’s how we’re preventing bites, removing ticks safely, and supporting naturally after a bite: Natural Prevention Tips: • Use a clean, natural tick repellent (like lemon eucalyptus or Earthley Pest-Aside) • Dress smart: long sleeves, pants tucked in socks, and hats in tall grass or woods • Full-body tick checks after outdoor play—scalp, ears, and underarms too! • Shower ASAP and toss clothes in the dryer on high heat If you find a tick: Remove with tweezers or a tick key—grip close to the skin and pull straight out (I prefer using a tick key as it’s less likely the tick will break off 🤢) Avoid twisting, burning, or smothering—it can cause the tick to release more toxins Place it in a sealed bag (you can send it to TickCheck.com for testing) Clean the bite with soap and water Dab with apple cider vinegar Apply Earthley Black Drawing Salve to draw out irritants and soothe Circle the bite with washable ink to monitor the area Watch for symptoms in the coming days/weeks Keep an eye out: Tick-borne illness isn’t just Lyme. One bite can transmit Ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Babesiosis, or Tularemia—even without a bull’s-eye rash.
