24 hour update on the submerged foam board test. Every one of these boards is still holding water with no leaks at all. I’m testing the big box waterproofing systems head to head including Schluter KERDI BOARD, GO BOARD, KBRS, Sentinel by WEDI, and a PERMABASE with REDGUARD. So far the GO BOARD has wicked the most, followed by Sentinel, then KBRS. Schluter has performed the best for wicking with almost none at all, and the REDGUARD section has shown zero wicking. It lightened up a little in color but that is not re emulsifying, just part of how it reacts when submerged. All of these systems are doing great and this is not about bashing any brand. It is about seeing which one truly holds up when submerged for real testing. The REDGUARD is not a board system so it will get its own series later with other liquid membranes, but for now this test is looking solid across the board.
